Adaptation Challenge Celebration

Invitation to attend the

Adaptation Challenge Celebration 2009-2010

Thursday 15th July, Life Science Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne

The North East is leading the way on climate change adaptation in the UK, with the Climate Change Schools Project playing a crucial role in engaging our young people and generating widespread and continuous action across our region.

Come along for the opportunity to discover which Climate Change Lead Schools are already taking steps to adapt to climate change and explore ways in which you may collaborate to build upon this momentum.

The celebration will demonstrate how schools can become hubs of adaptation action by working with their local communities and businesses to prepare for the impacts of a changing climate.

Students from these Lead Schools will be running short interactive workshops around the Centre for Life on the day to showcase what they have learnt and achieved about climate change adaptation during the past year.

There will also be an awards ceremony after lunch, hosted by the BBC’s Trai Anfield, to recognise these outstanding projects.
